Kolkata: Trinamool Congress general secretary Abhishek Banerjee on Tuesday appeared before the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Bhabani Bhavan in Kolkata in connection with an FIR lodged over alleged inflammatory remarks and threats made to Union home minister Amit Shah before the assembly elections.Banerjee was questioned for 6.5 hours and came out of the CID office at around 6.30 pm. He then headed to the Kalighat residence of former West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee.Also Read: TMC cites CID probe as Abhishek Banerjee misses Speaker meetingAn FIR was lodged against Banerjee last month at the Bidhannagar Cybercrime Police Station. The police station had been conducting the probe until the investigation was handed over to CID on June 11. This is the third day that he has been questioned by CID and ED. On Monday, Abhishek Banerjee appeared before ED to face interrogation in the multi-crore cash-for-school-job case.Meanwhile, a look-out notice has been issued for Sumit Roy, PA of Abhishek Banerjee. BJP leader Abhijit Das has lodged a complaint in South 24 Parganas district's Kalitala police station against large scale soil theft, leading to another FIR against Abhishek Banerjee and Sumit Roy.Also Read: Lok Sabha Speaker gave Abhishek Banerjee 2-hour notice during ED questioning: Sources"Given the scale of the financial theft, environmental damage and political patronage involved, swift and impartial action is requested," Das wrote in the complaint. Das has named Abhishek Banerjee, Sumit Roy, Trinamool Bishnupur MLA Dilip Mondal (already arrested), one Sanjib Jha and Baban Gaji.

Meanwhile, a look-out notice has been issued for his personal assistant in connection with a soil theft FIR. The investigations are ongoing.
