Health department launches probe into the source of the infection.
Two cases of shigellosis have been confirmed in Idukki district of Kerala. According to officials, the infection was detected in two children, aged four and nine, from the Kanjikuzhi panchayat limits.One child was admitted to the Idukki Government Medical College, while the other was admitted to a private hospital in Thodupuzha. The District Medical Officer (DMO) stated that there is no cause for concern regarding the health of the children. Meanwhile, the Health department has launched a probe into the source of the infection.In light of the confirmed cases, Health department officials stated that they will step up monitoring and preventive measures to manage the situation effectively.
