The party argued that the incident was "a stark and undeniable testament to the failure of President Tinubu's administration to provide the security and protection that every Nigerian deserves."

The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has urged Nigerians to adopt "all lawful means necessary" to compel President Bola Tinubu's administration to move beyond rhetoric and take decisive action against the worsening insecurity across the country.

The opposition party made the call in a statement issued on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Muhammed Ishaq, while reacting to the death of retired General Rabe Abubakar in captivity and the continued abduction of several Nigerians, including schoolchildren in Oyo State.

According to the PRP, the tragic death of the retired military officer while in the custody of kidnappers highlights what it described as the federal government's failure to guarantee the safety and security of citizens.

"The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) is profoundly saddened and outraged by the death of General Rabe Abubakar (rtd) in captivity and the ongoing abduction of many innocent Nigerians," the statement said.
