The Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to resign, citing what he described as the administration’s failure to protect Nigerians from worsening insecurity across the country.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, June 4, 2026, by its National Chairman, Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the opposition party said it is now “beyond any doubt” that Tinubu has “failed woefully” in his primary responsibility as President, in ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens.

According to Baba-Ahmed, insecurity has spread across the country under Tinubu’s leadership, with violent criminals increasingly targeting Nigerians regardless of age, status, or location.

“Under his watch, old threats have blossomed and mutated, while more and more Nigerians, irrespective of status or age, have fallen victim to violent criminals,” the party said.
