Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and thanked him for a new sanctions package targeting more than 160 entities linked to Russia’s shadow fleet.

Zelensky shared the information in a post on Telegram, according to Ukrinform.

“I am grateful to Canada for its new package of sanctions against more than 160 entities linked to Russia’s shadow fleet. Today, during our meeting with Mark Carney, we discussed strengthening sanctions pressure on Russia. And it is important that such decisions are being made,” Zelensky said.

He also noted that the meeting covered formats of defense cooperation, Canada’s participation in financing Ukrainian drone production under the Danish model, and cooperation in the energy sector. Zelensky added that Canada would continue to provide Ukraine with energy support and assistance in reconstruction efforts.

The President expressed gratitude to Carney for his strong stance during the G7–Ukraine meeting and for continued support for Ukraine.
