LUCENA CITY, Quezon — Seven Grade 5 students were injured after allegedly being stabbed by a Grade 8 student using a kitchen knife at a private school in General Trias City, Cavite on Tuesday morning.

In a Facebook post written in Filipino at around 7:25 p.m., Mayor Luis “Jon-Jon” Ferrer IV said he immediately went to the school in Barangay Sta. Clara, with police officers, social workers, and Department of Education officials, to look into the situation.

“Classes were also suspended as part of the standard operating procedure,” Ferrer said.FEATURED STORIES

The mayor noted that the injured students were rushed to the hospital, with two later transferred to a larger medical facility for surgery due to the severity of their injuries.
