Ita Collins.
Former Roedean School head girl Ita Collins will begin her undergraduate studies at Harvard University later this year after graduating with nine distinctions and receiving admission offers from several leading United States universities.
Collins, who was head girl in 2025, was accepted by Harvard, Stanford, the University of Pennsylvania, Brown, Carnegie Mellon and Harvey Mudd College before deciding on Harvard.
Alongside her academic achievements, Collins served on the Student Representative Council, was involved in environmental activism, participated in multiple sports and completed an internship at the Wits Reproductive Health Institute.
Reflecting on the university application process, Collins said managing different expectations had been challenging.
