Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the outcomes of a joint U.S.-Israeli military operation against the Islamic Republic during a press conference, declaring that Tehran will never acquire a nuclear weapon, regardless of whether it reaches an agreement with Washington.
Facing recent domestic criticism, including from members of his own cabinet, regarding the cessation of hostilities, Netanyahu described preventing a nuclear-armed Iran as his "life's mission."
"With a deal or without a deal, Iran will not have a nuclear weapon today, nor will it tomorrow," Netanyahu stated. "As long as I am the Prime Minister of Israel, this will not happen." He reiterated that the Islamic Republic's nuclear program had posed an imminent threat to Israel, which was dismantled through cooperation with the United States.
Defining the scope of the recent military campaign against the Iranian regime, Netanyahu listed the key outcomes:
"We launched the largest offensive operation in Israel's history. We targeted nuclear scientists, eliminated leaders of the Islamic Republic, destroyed nuclear facilities, and wiped out missiles along with the vast majority of missile production factories. We hit countless military industries and infrastructures. We destroyed their navy and air force. We eliminated the Basij commanders who massacred the Iranian people. We inflicted massive damage on Iran's economy; some estimate this damage at hundreds of billions of dollars, and others near a trillion dollars."
