Borussia Dortmund is looking at bringing Jadon Sancho back to Signal Iduna Park. The German club is reportedly weighing a move for the English winger once his Manchester United contract expires in summer 2026, a reunion that could give both parties exactly what they need.
The case for a reunion
The numbers from Sancho’s first stint at Dortmund tell a compelling story. Between 2017 and 2021, the winger scored 50 goals in 137 appearances for the club, totalling 120 goal contributions across 158 matches.
Then Manchester United came calling with a £73 million move in 2021, and things went sideways. Sancho struggled for consistent playing time at Old Trafford, eventually finding himself frozen out entirely during a very public falling out with former manager Erik ten Hag.
What followed was a series of loan moves. First came a loan back to Dortmund in 2024, then a spell at Chelsea during the 2024-25 season, and most recently a stint at Aston Villa for the 2025-26 campaign.
