My Adventures With Superman is adding a new character to its cast in season three, and it won’t be long before she’s flying off to her own spin-off series. Adult Swim’s animated superhero series will introduce Jessica Cruz in episode two of season three, “Mobile Suit Toyman,” and she’ll be voiced by Moana star Auli’i Cravalho. Entertainment Weekly has a first look at Jessica, a future Green Lantern who is introduced in My Adventures With Superman as an average high school student. Jessica is also scheduled to get her own spin-off show, My Adventures With Green Lantern, but first, she’s going to serve as a lens through which the audience can better understand Supergirl (Kiana Madeira). © Adult Swim Showrunner Jake Wyatt explained, “We’d already planned for the second episode to showcase how Supergirl, in particular, was changing their world. We wanted to look at how different people had very different reactions to the same Kryptonian. So when word came down from the brass that Green Lantern was greenlit, we wanted our pre-Lantern Jessica Cruz to give us the girl-on-the-street view of Supergirl. How would a shy, relatively powerless teenager see this powerful, young super-woman out there changing the world? And what would it be like for Supergirl to see herself through Jess’s eyes?”
