If you’re of a certain age, you may have sworn off certain eyeshadows because the product’s tendency to settle into fine lines and exaggerate crepey eyelids. But this versatile eyeshadow pot — which received a glowing endorsement from a HuffPost editor — aims to give eyes a youthful “pop,” and in a formula that even the most novice of makeup wearers can enjoy.
Many members of the HuffPost newsroom (including myself) are already fans of Merit’s clean ingredient beauty products that somehow always look effortless but impactful. So when breaking news editor Lydia O’Connor flagged the brand’s Solo Shadow pots as a must-have in the Merit lineup, it wasn’t really surprising.
“I’m not exaggerating when I say it immediately became an everyday item in my makeup routine, which is saying a lot for someone who already owns dozens of eyeshadows,” O’Connor said after purchasing the soft mauve shade, Social, on a whim.
The shadows come in two finishes, either matte or sheen, with several shades to choose from in each finish category. The sheens have a blendable cream formula made with micro-fine pearls that offer a sheer wash of buildable color and a glassy, pearlescent finish that doesn’t look chunky or glittery like some shimmer shadows, nor will it settle into creases.
