Jesse Naidoo

As we commemorate Pride Month, Jesse Naidoo speaks about his journey and the challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer/questioning, intersex, and asexual) community.

IN A WORLD that often struggles to embrace diversity, Jesse Naidoo stands as a beacon of courage and authenticity.

Naidoo, 51, of Johannesburg, said that when he was able to dress himself at the age of 3, he knew he wanted to be a boy.

“I felt different and had no interest in what my sisters liked or how they dressed. If we played dress-up, I always wanted to be the dad or brother.
