He described the development as disturbing, worrisome, and a potential threat to the state’s peaceful political climate.

Richard Akinaka, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Bayelsa Central Senatorial District, has expressed concern over the demolition notice issued by the Bayelsa State Capital City Development Authority (CCDA) on a hotel belonging to Mr. Michael Samuel Bunas (also known as Don Samooo), the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Yenagoa Constituency I in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.

He described the development as disturbing, worrisome, and a potential threat to the state’s peaceful political climate.

Akinaka called on Governor Douye Diri to intervene in the matter, cautioning that actions capable of being perceived as political intimidation could undermine the reputation the governor has built as a promoter of peace and stability in the state.

According to him, Bayelsa has remained largely peaceful under Governor Diri’s administration, a situation he attributed to the governor’s character and leadership.
