Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez welcomed the announcement of the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran, while urging people not to forget the cost of this armed conflict.
According to Ukrinform, he wrote about this on the social network X.
“Over 7,400 dead, most of them civilians. Hundreds of homes, schools, and hospitals were destroyed. Widespread price hikes and billions of euros in losses, particularly in Europe. These are the consequences of the conflict in Iran,” Sánchez wrote.
In his view, we must not forget that war is a mistake and that dialogue and diplomacy are the only possible paths.
“We hope that the peace agreement announced today will help put an end to this senselessness, that all parties will adhere to it [the agreement], and that it will mark the beginning of a new phase in the Middle East,” Sanchez added.
