Angel City Football Club has appointed former Red Bull North America executive Amy Taylor as chief executive officer, the club will announce Monday.
Taylor, who will officially start the job on July 27, is departing her current post as CEO of Zevia PBC, a maker of zero-sugar beverages. Angel City said she will oversee all of the LA-based club’s football, business and organizational operations.
A former college track athlete, Taylor served served as director of game operations for the Atlanta Hawks in the 1990s before moving on to Red Bull. There, she rose to president and chief marketing officer for North America, and represented Red Bull’s ownership interests in the MLS’ New York Red Bulls and what was then called Red Bull Arena.
Taylor is a recipient of the Women in Sports and Events (WISE) Inspirational Woman of the Year Award and serves on the executive committee and chairs the strategic planning committee for the board of directors of The Trevor Project, a nonprofit dedicated to ending suicide among LGBTQ+ youth.
Angel City is the most valuable NWSL franchise, according to Sportico’s most recent rankings, worth $335 million. It’s held the top spot in the Sportico valuations list for three years running.
