Police are searching for a driver after one student died and two others were injured when they allegedly jumped from a moving bakkie on the R523 near Ngovhela and Sibasa.
One university student has died and two others were injured after they allegedly jumped from a moving bakkie on the R523 between Ngovhela and Sibasa, in northern Limpopo on Sunday.
According to preliminary reports, the three students had boarded the back of a utility bakkie. Along the route, they reportedly realised that the driver was behaving suspiciously and was not heading to their intended destination.
When the students repeatedly called on the driver to stop, the motorist allegedly ignored them and accelerated.
Fearing for their safety and thinking they were being abducted, the three students jumped from the moving vehicle onto the road.
