A Durban Metro Police officer has been arrested for allegedly soliciting bribes in exchange for job promises.
The Durban Metro Police have appealed to members of the public to come forward with information if they were promised jobs in the municipal police service in return for payment.
This comes after a Durban Metro Police officer was arrested for allegedly soliciting and accepting money from members of the public in exchange for promises of employment within the Metro Police Service.
The officer was arrested at the Durban Metro Police Headquarters on Wednesday. He is accused of falsely claiming that he could secure jobs for applicants within the service if they paid him.
According to the Metro Police Service, a criminal case has been opened and is currently being investigated by the South African Police Service (SAPS).
