ALBAWABA - U.S. President Donald Trump announced Monday that a peace deal between Washington and Tehran was reached and it will be inked on Friday.Iran and the U.S. have agreed to a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to end over 100 days of fighting. Pakistan, which was a main mediator in the peace talks between the two countries, also confirmed on June 15 that they reached an agreement."The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all! I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade. Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!" Trump revealed in a post on Truth Social.According to the U.S. president, the Strait of Hormuz, which has been closed since the war broke out on February 28, will be immediately reopened. Trump said, "Oil will flow on both ends again for the Region, and the World".Tehran says that the agreement includes Lebanon, which has been under intense Israeli attacks since March 2 after Hezbollah joined the war following the killing of Iran's former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.According to Mehr News Agency, the draft agreement contains 14 conditions:A permanent and immediate cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including LebanonThe complete lifting of the naval blockade within 30 daysU.S. army should withdraw its forces from around IranThe reopening of the Strait of HormuzThe suspension of sanctions on oil salesThe release of $24bn in frozen Iranian assets during the 60-day negotiation periodTalks on uranium enrichment and reaching an agreement within 60 days of signing the dealWhere will the deal be signed?The peace agreement between the two countries will be formally signed in the Swiss city of Geneva on Friday.
