US President Donald Trump said Washington and Tehran have reached a memorandum of understanding to end more than 100 days of illegal US-Israeli war against Iran, with the agreement due to be signed in Geneva on Friday.
Iran confirmed the text had been finalised and said the deal would halt military operations on all fronts, including Lebanon, where Israeli attacks continued after the announcement. The agreement was reached after mediation by Pakistan and Qatar.
Trump announced the deal on Truth Social, saying the Strait of Hormuz would reopen to shipping and the US naval blockade of Iranian ports would end. “Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!” he wrote.
