CollimateHealth has raised €6 million in seed funding to develop microbeam radiation therapy, a cancer treatment that uses very thin radiation beams to target tumours and boost the immune system.

Based in Munich, the startup grew out of almost ten years of research at the Technical University of Munich. It is backed by five European life sciences investors, including HTGF and VP Venture Partners.

The global market for radiation therapy is worth about €13 billion and could almost double by 2034. Investors are backing new approaches aimed at improving patient care.

Traditional radiation therapy has not changed much over the past 50 years. It uses wide beams that kill cancer cells but also harm healthy tissue. CollimateHealth aims to improve this and has raised €6 million to advance its solution.

CollimateHealth GmbH has closed an oversubscribed seed round with support from VP Venture Partners, Positron, XISTA Science Ventures, High-Tech Gründerfonds, and caesar. The company aims to treat its first patients by the end of 2028.
