Police officers and emergency service personnel stood shoulder to shoulder in the pouring rain Sunday afternoon as the hearse carrying Toronto Police Officer Marc Pinizzotto left the Ontario Chief Coroner’s Office, beginning a solemn journey to honour the fallen officer.

At the coroner’s office, Toronto firefighters hoisted a massive Canadian flag, with members of the Toronto police mounted unit right beside them on their horses, as hundreds of police vehicles lined up the street before the procession went from the office in North York to Kane-Jerrett Funeral Home in Thornhill.
