Atiku described the tragedy as a damning indictment of the Nigerian government’s failure to protect Nigerians.
Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the death of retired Major General Abubakar Rabe in bandits’ captivity.
Atiku described the tragedy as a damning indictment of the Nigerian government’s failure to protect Nigerians.
Atiku made the remarks in a statement issued on Sunday by his media adviser, Paul Ibe, in which he said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration of “incompetence and cluelessness” in addressing the country’s worsening security crisis has made soldiers’ sacrifices futile, and reopened the wounds of the Chibok schoolgirls abducted by Boko Haram terrorists in 2014.
According to Atiku, the death of the former Director of Defence Information exposed the ineffectiveness of the government’s security strategy and underscored the reality that no Nigerian, regardless of status or service to the nation, is safe.
