Allegations have surfaced that hundreds of thousands of taka were collected from residents in Savar following announcements made over a mosque loudspeaker in connection with a World Bank-funded development project.
Local authorities said the drainage construction in Jamsingh Joypara area under Savar Municipality is being implemented under the Local Government COVID-19 Response and Recovery Project (LGCRRP), financed by the World Bank.
