A man who fell three storeys into an enclosed void at the Point Mall, Sea Point, was rescued after emergency services executed a complex and successful operation.
The incident was reported to the City of Cape Town's fire and rescue services at 6:40pm last Wednesday.
Sea Point fire station crew responded promptly to the scene on Regent Road and, upon assessing the severity of the situation, requested immediate assistance from the technical rescue team.
Fire and rescue services spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse, said the operation required specialised equipment to safely retrieve the patient.
"A turntable ladder was deployed to transport personnel onto the rooftop, allowing them to secure the necessary anchor points for the operation," he said.
