T1 took down Gen.G 2-1 on May 16 in the LCK 2026, turning what has become one of League of Legends’ fiercest rivalries into a masterclass on objective control. The series hinged on Baron fights, with T1’s jungler Oner delivering a pivotal Baron steal that swung momentum decisively in his team’s favor.
The win is revenge, plain and simple. Gen.G had swept T1 2-0 back on April 8, using Baron buffs to fuel teamfight victories that left T1 with no answers.
Baron as the main character
Baron Nashor is the most powerful neutral objective on the map. Killing it grants your entire team a significant combat buff that makes sieging enemy bases dramatically easier.
Both T1 and Gen.G are teams that live and die by objective control. Their previous meeting in April demonstrated exactly that, as Gen.G leveraged Baron buffs to steamroll teamfights and close out both games cleanly.
