Ruben Amorim’s post-Manchester United sabbatical appears to be ending before it really began. The Portuguese manager, who was sacked from Old Trafford in January 2026, is reportedly in advanced discussions with AC Milan over their vacant managerial position.
From Old Trafford to the San Siro
Amorim’s tenure at Manchester United was, to put it gently, not the transformative era the club had hoped for. Appointed in November 2024, he lasted just 14 months before the axe fell on January 5, 2026.
The final straw was a 1-1 draw against Leeds United.
Over 63 matches in charge, Amorim managed 24 wins, 18 draws, and 21 losses. That translates to a win percentage of 38%.
