Police said two more people have been charged after drones were flown near the FIFA Fan Festival on Friday, bringing the total number of intercepted drones linked to tournament events in Toronto to four.
Two drones flying near the FIFA Fan Festival at Fort York were intercepted by police Friday afternoon ahead of the Canadian team’s opening game at Toronto Stadium.
The incidents come two days after police intercepted two other drones on Wednesday evening during the World Cup Countdown Concert. This brings the total numbers of drones detected and intercepted since June 10 to four, said Toronto police spokesperson Stephanie Miceli.

The latest unauthorized drone was nabbed at Fort York Boulevard and Fleet Street, according to police.
