Tiruchi Airport Director S.S. Raju on Saturday said that approval and sanction of funds were awaited for the construction of a passenger terminal building and other allied facilities at the Thanjavur airport.Preliminary drawings and designs for the establishment of the terminal building and other facilities at the Thanjavur airport have been finalised and 56 acres of land has been allotted for this purpose, Mr. Raju said.Mr. Raju told presspersons here that the establishment of the terminal building and creation of other facilities at Thanjavur airport would entail a cost of ₹100 crore. Once approved, the airport would have a terminal building to handle 300 passengers (150 for arrival and 150 for departure) with one link taxiway as the runway was already functional and two parking bays.
