Health Minister K.G. Arunraj on Saturday (June 13, 2026) alleged that, unlike in the DMK government, the police are taking action on the complaints filed without any discrimination. The 31st Graduation Day was held at the Salem Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College premises, where Transport Minister A. Mr. Parthiban advised the graduates to serve the people without any discrimination, and that their service should be an example for the next generation. “A true victory of a doctor is in the number of lives saved, and not in the money earned,” he noted.Mr. Arunraj said while there are many professions, the field of medicine is sacred. The satisfaction in this field is high when compared with other fields, Mr. Arunraj added.Mr. Arunraj noted that over the last 10 to 15 years, there is a strong criticism that the field of medicine has turned into a corporate business. Based on the results, this will be implemented in all the hospitals gradually,” he added.Later, speaking to reporters, Mr. Arunraj said that Salem Government Hospital will be upgraded like AIIMS. At the end of five years of the TVK government, people will opt for government hospitals, which will be equipped with all facilities. Transparent tenders will be given to set up canteens.Mr. Arunraj also added that in the past, the police did not take action against member of the ruling party. But now, without any discrimination, actions are taken by the police.MLAs Lakshmanan, Palanivel, and Sivakumar; Salem District Collector K. Elambahavath, Salem Government Hospital Dean J.
