A 23-year-old woman was arrested for killing her child here on Friday evening (June 12, 2026).According to the police, T. Lalitha, a resident of Varagoor near Thalaivasal, was married and has two sons aged five and 18-months old. Following a family dispute, she had separated from her husband and was staying with her parents at Siruvachur, along with her second son.On May 11, 2026, she claimed that her child had fainted due to epilepsy. Lalitha took him to the Attur Government Hospital, but the child died. The Thalaivasal police sent the body to post-mortem. Meanwhile, two weeks ago, she had absconded with her boyfriend. Post-mortem reports revealed that the child was killed due to poisoning. Following this, the police conducted a search and on Friday, she was apprehended and later was remanded to prison.
