David Hockney, a highly revered artist, passed away peacefully at home on 11 June at the age of 88, as confirmed by his representatives. Before performing his single Aperture, Styles displayed a quote from Hockney on screens around Wembley Stadium, which spoke about art being about sharing experiences and thoughts. Hockney had painted Styles for his 2023 Drawing from Life exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, with Styles expressing it was a “complete privilege” to be painted by him. Styles is also set to break two Wembley Stadium records during his residency: for the most performances by any artist in a single year and the most shows played by a solo artist on one tour, surpassing Taylor Swift's previous record.
