Apple has announced its latest operating system updates — iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 (Golden Gate) — introducing a major overhaul focused on performance enhancements, a refined user interface and robust parental control features designed to bolster youth safety. The update brings significant performance improvements, offering smoother animation rendering and giving users the ability to manually adjust the transparency of the “Liquid Glass” interface.
The new Parental Controls feature allows guardians to restrict youth device usage, manage accessible content, monitor contacts and set strict screen time limits. Parents can also enable an “Ask Permission” feature that triggers a request whenever a child attempts to download applications or visit websites.
Image Playground introduces powerful new ways for users to bring their imagination to life, such as creating high-quality images in a realistic, photographic style.
With the Notify Me feature, users can ask Safari to check for changes to web pages, such as restocking or sales, so they can stay updated on topics they're interested in.
The Messages app displays one-tap suggestions based on the user's conversation context, making it easier than ever to manage things like creating reminders or notes.
