Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Friday said the difficult terrain and vast expanse of the Old Oyo National Park have continued to pose significant challenges to efforts to rescue schoolchildren and teachers abducted by terrorists in Yawota and Ahoro-Esinle communities in Oriire Local Government Area of the state.

Makinde, in his Newsletter No. 140 released on Friday, disclosed that intelligence reports indicated that the abductees were still being held within the Old Oyo National Park axis, nearly four weeks after their abduction.

The governor stated that the victims remained the focus of ongoing security operations.

On May 15, terrorists stormed the Baptist Nursery and Primary School, Yawota, Community Grammar School and L A Primary School, Esiele, killing a teacher and abducting over 45 pupils and teacher.
