A group of stakeholders from Enugu North Senatorial District also known as Nsukka zone have demanded for an accountable and purposeful senatorial leadership in the region, while backing the emergence of the candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Bishop Oscar Okwudili Elias.
The concerned Nsukka stakeholders, in a statement on Friday by Chief Fidelis Odoja and made available to journalists, described the late Senator Okey Ezea's death as a significant loss to the people of Enugu North, noting that Bishop Elias would carry on his ideals.
They noted that the late senator was widely respected for his commitment to public service, principled leadership, and advocacy for the welfare of his constituents.
According to the group, the upcoming by-election presents an opportunity for the district to elect a representative capable of sustaining the legacy of service and people-oriented leadership associated with the late senator.
