China will redouble its efforts to advance high-standard opening-up to create broader opportunities for the Asia-Pacific and the world amid a global landscape marked by rising uncertainties, according to a senior Chinese official.
"The Asia-Pacific stands out as one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing region in the world, powered by tech breakthroughs and digital transformation," Vice-Minister of Finance Liao Min said when delivering opening remarks at the 2026 APEC Senior Finance Officials' Meeting in Chengdu, Sichuan province.
But the global economic landscape has become "more complex and fluid", Liao said on Thursday, calling for APEC economies to uphold multilateralism, strengthen macroeconomic policy coordination and accelerate economic transformation to ensure long-term sustainable development.
