The Entrepreneurship Development and Innovation Institute (EDII), Tamil Nadu, has shortlisted 13 business ideations out of 156 mooted by college students in Tiruppur district for discussion in boot camp to be conducted shortly, under its ‘Nimirnthu Nil’ projectThe 13 entrepreneurship ideas mainly pertained to agricultural and veterinary activities, and Artificial Intelligence. The bootcampers, it is learnt, will meet with local entrepreneurs and EDII TN faculty members for hands-on learning of entrepreneurial skills. They will be exposed to the problems at the residential camps and encouraged to arrive at solutions that could lead to development of new ventures or new products, processes or systems.Most of the over 40 arts and science colleges and engineering colleges have been roped in for the entrepreneurship drive, T. Prabakaran, Tiruppur District Programme Manager, EDII-TN, said.Principals and faculty members of 35 colleges took part in a meeting chaired by District Collector Manish Narnaware earlier this week to discuss the objectives, activities, and action plan for 2026–2027 for fostering the youth entrepreneurship and innovation development initiative under the five-year project.Mr. Manish called upon the college heads to prevail upon students to actively participate in the initiative by submitting more number of innovative entrepreneurial ideas in the second cycle.Urging the college heads to play a key role in nurturing innovation and entrepreneurial thinking among youth, the Collector advocated creation of entrepreneurship opportunities and strengthening of innovation ecosystems within campuses.
