It has been three decades since Ewan McGregor famously told viewers to ‘choose life’ in the opening scenes of Danny Boyle’s hit film, Trainspotting.Now in a quirky take on those opening credits, Scots singer Lewis Capaldi narrates a new version of the monologue ahead of Scotland’s World Cup opener with Haiti on Sunday – telling fans to ‘choose Scotland’.The humorous clip by Adidas features midfielder Scott McTominay, who’s epic bicycle kick goal helped the national team qualify for the tournament in America, and the team skipper Andy Robertson.But instead of running through the rough inner city streets of Edinburgh like McGregor’s character Mark Renton, McTominay looks cool in sunglasses and leather jacket as he races through sunny Napels, where he plays for Italian side Napoli, to the original movie soundtrack.
