The city police arrested two people for smuggling 844 kg of gutkha on Thursday evening. Acting on a tip-off, the Pallapatti police stopped a mini lorry on Three Roads. The police found 844 kg of gutkha hidden in 11 barrels and seized it. The police arrested two persons, M. Saravana Kumar (38), a resident of Ranipet district, and V.
