ANCYL president Collen Malatji has criticised Home Affairs Minister Leon Schreiber, arguing that parties in the GNU must take responsibility for challenges such as illegal immigration rather than distancing themselves.

ANCYL president Collen Malatji has criticised DA Minister of Home Affairs Leon Schreiber, accusing him of failing to speak out on and adequately address the issue of illegal immigration despite holding one of the most important portfolios in government.

Speaking at the National Livestock Farmers Association annual general meeting in Pretoria on Thursday, Malatji said political parties that are part of the Government of National Unity (GNU) often criticise government while avoiding responsibility for challenges facing the country.

He said there was no major political party in South Africa, apart from the EFF, that was not part of government.

“The DA is in government, the Freedom Front Plus is in government, the PA is in government, almost all of them are in government, but they complain like they're not in government, when they are in government,” Malatji said.
