Meesho, one of the leading Indian e-commerce platforms, has acquired B2B commerce platform Kirana Club for a cash consideration of Rs 202 crore.
The acquisition gives Meesho deeper access into the grocery market and a platform for B2B play across categories, especially in Tier II cities and markets beyond.
Following the acquisition, Kirana Club will continue to operate independently within the Meesho group, the company said in a statement.
Founded in 2020 by Anshul Gupta and Aishwarya Jain, Kirana Club connects kirana shop owners with FMCG brands and distributors, primarily across Tier II to IV towns and rural India.
It has 4.1 million registered retailers.
