Sibongile Happiness Ngwadla is set to go on trial for killing and kidnapping Simphiwe Ntobeko Xaba from Umlazi on August 2025.
A woman from Umlazi is set to go on trial in July for allegedly kidnapping a five-year-old boy, killing him, and dumping his body in a river following an altercation with the child’s mother.
Sibongile Happiness Ngwadla made a brief appearance in the Durban High Court on Thursday for a pre-trial conference, where she indicated that she would be applying for Legal Aid representation.
Ngwadla faces charges of extortion, kidnapping, and murder.
The State alleges that Ngwadla and the child’s mother, Ntombifikile Xaba, were involved in an altercation before the incident.
