Bulgaria Defeat Iran 3–0 as Blengini Praises Serve and Block

Bulgaria’s men earned their first win of the tournament with the straight-sets success over Iran in their second match of the opening VNL leg in Brazil. The team now holds one win and one loss as they prepare to face Argentina next.

The head coach of Bulgaria’s men’s national volleyball team, Gianlorenzo Blengini, expressed satisfaction after a convincing 3–0 victory over Iran men’s national volleyball team in the Volleyball Nations League, while cautioning that every opponent in the competition poses a serious challenge.

“Of course I’m happy with the win—nothing makes me happy when we lose,” Blengini said. “But victories must be approached the right way. We work every day to improve, and at this level that effort has to be constant. After that, we analyze what went well and what can still be better. Every match here is a tough battle.”

He stressed that margins are slim at the top level: “We won 3–0, but one or two balls can change everything. Every team is strong. No one plays flawlessly at this level. You have to accept difficult moments and keep going, knowing it will always be hard.”
