United Nations Development Programme

The United Nations Development Programme has pledged to support states in the Northeast region in security and in developing a master policy plan that will address people’s needs.

The Resident Representative of the UNDP, Elsie Attafuah, made the pledge on Wednesday at a regional technical workshop on the National Regional Development Policy 2026–2030 in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Attafuah, who was represented at the event by an official of the organisation, Mathew Alao, said the workshop was organised by the UNDP as part of efforts to assist the Ministry of Regional Development in developing a robust and inclusive regional development policy that meets global best practices.

She said, “As the UN, we are supporting the government of the day in all their development efforts.
