Lagos Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa
The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday paid tribute to two members of staff who died last week, describing their deaths as a painful loss to the legislature and its workforce.
The deceased are Comrade Michael Adeleke, an auditor with the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission and Chairman of the Lagos State Joint Negotiating Council, and Miss Esther Adetimehin, a staff member of the Administration and Human Resources Directorate of the commission.
Their deaths were announced during plenary, where lawmakers observed a minute’s silence in their honour.
Speaking during the session, the Speaker of the House, Mudashiru Obasa, expressed the Assembly’s grief over the loss of the two officials, whom he described as dedicated and committed members of staff.
