According to IYDPA, the reported deployment raises serious questions about the priorities of the state government at a time when many communities across Osun State continue to face security challenges, including kidnapping, armed robbery and other criminal activities.

A civil society organisation, the Initiative for Youth Development and Peace Advocacy (IYDPA) has raised concerns over the alleged deployment of operatives of the Osun Amotekun Corps to a private energy facility owned by Dr. Deji Adeleke, the elder brother of Governor Ademola Adeleke, in Ondo State.

The civic organisation described the development as troubling and called on the Osun State government to provide a full explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding the deployment of personnel of the state-owned security outfit to a private business facility located outside Osun State.

In a statement issued on Thursday in Osogbo by the Director General of the organisation, Abdulrahman Al Amin and the spokesperson, Akinwale Kehinde, the group alleged that no fewer than 50 Amotekun operatives were stationed at the Pacific Energy Company, located in Omotosho Village along the Benin/Ore Road in Ondo State.
