Nifty IT, the 10-stock index representing Indian IT companies, dipped 1.6%, a day after Anthropic opened Fable 5, a restricted version of Claude Mythos 5, to the public. Fable 5 is expected to put the revenue of IT majors at risk, according to industry experts.While Infosys dipped over 2.5%, Persistent Systems dipped 0.87%, closing at ₹1,114.6 and ₹4,874.00 per share respectively.HCL Tech shaved 1.6% of its previous day’s price and Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. became cheaper by 1.9%. Revenues of Indian IT services companies are expected to see a deflation of 3-5%, said Sumit Pokharna, Senior V-P, Fundamental Research, Kotak Securities.Anthropic, the American AI company that makes Claude, has been releasing new models with increasing efficiency, according to information on its website. “It is state-of-the-art on nearly all tested bench marks of AI capability, showing exceptional performance in software engineering, knowledge work, vision, scientific research, and many other areas. The longer and more complex the task, the larger Fable 5’s lead over our other models,” Anthropic said in a post on its website.
