Harry Kane is having the kind of season that makes transfer fees look like bargains. The England captain, who joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2023 for approximately €90 million, has posted career-high goal numbers while playing a role that, on paper, should produce fewer of them.
Kane has thrived as a “false nine” under Thomas Tuchel, dropping deeper than a traditional striker to orchestrate attacks while still finishing them. The result: at least 54 goals across all competitions in the 2025/26 season, including 33 in the Bundesliga alone.
The numbers behind the false nine experiment
Kane’s 33 Bundesliga goals earned him the Torjägerkanone, the award given to the league’s top scorer. That tally helped Bayern Munich secure a domestic double, winning both the Bundesliga title and the DFB-Pokal in May 2026.
The goal tallies across all competitions, estimated between 54 and 61 depending on the source, represent the most prolific campaign of Kane’s career.
