Bernardo Silva, one of the most decorated midfielders of his generation, is heading to Real Madrid. The 31-year-old Portuguese international will join the Spanish giants on a free transfer when his Manchester City contract expires on June 30, 2026.

Silva arrived at Manchester City back in 2017. In the nearly nine years since, he helped City stack up multiple league titles and establish themselves as a European superpower.

Silva had signaled a desire to leave Manchester City for a new challenge as far back as 2024. With his deal winding down and no extension materializing, the question shifted from “will he leave” to “where will he go.”
