Bengaluru: Realty developer Prestige Group will invest around Rs 1,800 crore to develop a large integrated destination within Bengaluru Airport City in partnership with Bengaluru Airport City, the company said.The project will include a state-of-the-art convention and exhibition centre, luxury hotels under globally recognised brands, premium office spaces and curated retail, food and beverage and lifestyle offerings, the realty developer said in a statement.It is planned as a mixed-use development combining business, hospitality, culture and entertainment within a single integrated ecosystem at the airport city, the statement added."By integrating hospitality, business, culture and lifestyle experiences within a single ecosystem, we are creating a landmark destination that will set new benchmarks for mixed-use development in India,” said Irfan Razack, managing director of Prestige Group, in the statement.The convention centre is expected to be a major venue for international conferences, exhibitions, corporate events and large-scale cultural gatherings. It will be supported by hospitality and commercial infrastructure aimed at global business and leisure travellers.The company said that the convention centre will have a capacity to accommodate nearly 8,000 people.The broader development will also include premium office spaces and experience-led retail zones, designed to create a seamless work, stay and leisure environment within the airport corridor.Construction is expected to begin in early 2027, with the development forming a key component of the long-term expansion of Bengaluru Airport City’s mixed-use urban ecosystem, the company said."The next phase of urban growth will be defined by the ability to create destinations that bring together enterprise, talent and ideas at scale. Our partnership with Prestige Group is an important step in that direction,” Hari Marar, CEO of Bangalore International Airport, said.
