In his first visit to Karnataka after taking charge, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay will visit Kollur Mookambika Temple in Udupi district on Friday afternoon.Mr. Vijay will land at the Mangaluru International Airport around noon and will travel by road to the temple.The Udupi district police have made elaborate security arrangements for the visit of Mr. Vijay. In a statement, Udupi Superintendent of Police Hariram Shankar has asked devotees to avoid darshan at the temple between noon and 5 p.m. on Friday. Devotees should have darshan before or after the visit, as darshan will be affected when Mr. Vijay will be in the temple.During the visit to the temple and his return, there are no scheduled meetings or interaction of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister with public. People should not gather in groups along the route of the convoy, at the temple welcome arch and in the temple premises.As many as 40 police personnnel, including a DIG and SP from Tamil Nadu Police, will also be part of a close protection group for the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, who is given Z+ security cover. All security measures in the convoy will be provided, the Udupi SP stated.Black flagMeanwhile, Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (Praveen Kumar Shetty faction) has threatened that it will show black flag to Mr. Vijay at Mangaluru International Airport to protest against Tamil Nadu opposing proposed Mekedatu Irrigation Project. Mr. Shetty will be present at the airport during the protest, it said.The vedike said that activists of the vedike will show black blag to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister in Udupi district during his road travel from Mangaluru to Kolluru, Ansar Ahmed, honorary president of Udupi district unit of the vedike said in a statement.
